For 25 years, we've been saving street animals' lives and making Udaipur one of the best cities in India for animals. Unlimited Unleashed is our campaign to bring the next chapter of rescue to life with a world-class facility so that each and every rescued animal can receive advanced medical and loving care.
With your support, we will begin construction by the end of 2026!
Support the campaignRented Land and Limited Infrastructure
Since 2002, Animal Aid Unlimited's rescue-center, hospital and sanctuary has operated on rented land. While we were fundraising and saving to one day buy our own land, we were forced to move and rebuild our shelter from scratch three different times. Each move meant starting again with minimal structures, shaping our work around what was possible rather than what was truly needed.
Despite facility challenges, our work continued to grow. Each year, more than 15,000 animals receive care from our team of over 150 dedicated staff members, who have navigated constraints with commitment and resourcefulness. Our new center will mean that our team will be able to reach more animals, improve recovery outcomes, and ensure every animal receives treatment and care in the environment they deserve.
Greater Capacity to Save Lives
The new hospital, rescue center, and sanctuary are being designed to support the scale and complexity of the work we already do—while allowing us to care for far more animals, far better.
The hospital will include modern, world-class indoor treatment hospitals with appropriate heating and air-conditioning, creating safer and more controlled environments for recovery. Medical facilities will support the care of dogs, cats, cows, birds, and other animals, including dedicated spaces for surgery, diagnostics such as X-ray imaging, and essential medical equipment. Alongside animal care areas, the design includes proper spaces for staff and volunteers, a canteen, parking, and visitor-friendly access, allowing us to welcome students and groups and deepen public awareness around compassion for street animals.
Building the Future of Care
Based on current designs and projections, we are planning for a construction budget of approximately $10 million to bring the hospital institute to life. This phase covers the complete construction of the hospital and sanctuary facilities — treatment areas, recovery spaces, designated education and training areas, and the building systems required to support high-quality medical care — laying the foundation for the work the hospital will carry forward in the years ahead.
Preparing for What Comes Next
Our current operating costs already exceed $1 million per year, and the completed facility will support a much greater capacity to care for animals, staff, volunteers, and the wider community. While interior fit-out, medical equipment, and expanded operations will be addressed in a later phase, this construction phase is a critical first step — creating a thoughtfully designed hospital that meets future needs and sustains life-saving work at the highest standard for decades to come.
Our First Construction Milestone
To begin construction in October, we are focused on securing the first portion of the construction budget. Reaching this milestone allows us to break ground, formally commit to our project partners, and move forward with confidence as the build begins. This initial phase of fundraising lays the groundwork for the full realization of the hospital institute and the impact it is designed to create.
