Our rescuers gasped when they saw so much blood.
This poor elder-girl had been hit in the face by a car. Blood loss was extreme. She seemed to know we were here to help her and offered no resistance to being carried to safety. Once on the treatment table, we saw that Enid’s wounds were in her mouth, on her face and to her eye. Enid allowed our nurses to clean her wounds and insert the IV line to rehydrate her.
Shock from blood loss can be fatal, so we continued the drip for hours. The next day we were amazed that she was ready to eat on her own! Enid had survived canine distemper earlier in her life, and we could see the effects by the slight spasmodic twitching of her head. But Enid is an astounding SURVIVOR. She’s elderly, she’s slow, but the world is sweeter with Enid in it.
