If ever we came upon a dying dog, this was it. We’ve called her Jenni, and this description needs a “spoiler” (she thrives in the end) because otherwise it might seem too painful to watch.

She’s malnourished, and it looks like every joint, every square inch of her body is hurting. She’s covered in mysterious small sores with a wound on her neck. None of it adds up to the dreadful last moments of life she’s experiencing before rescue.
