This dear dog was literally falling apart, desperate with advanced mange and a wound she had probably caused by scratching.

The wound on her back had become infested with maggots. On arrival at our hospital, we placed her on the table to start her treatment. She kept perfectly still, but stared straight ahead and seemed completely lost. She had been living inside a relentlessly painful body, and her strength had all been spent. That’s why saving her life was so incredible for all her caregivers. To see her unthinkable suffering turning to complete relief was nothing short of thrilling.

You might find yourself saying “This just cannot be the same dog!” But look deep into her eyes, and you’ll see who was hiding there all the time.
