Gregory may be old, tottering, toothless and arthritic, but wow, does he have something to teach us all about the strength of a cheerful heart. 

Gregory’s head wound had become large as a saucer and filled with deadly maggots. He writhed on the ground in pain and despair when rescuers arrived to help him. His agitated stiff body went limp the moment he was comforted by the rescue team and once Gregory was in our care, we worried that his wound was too advanced for any medical treatment to help. But we didn’t know Gregory! This old boy had a puppy’s capacity to abandon himself to cuddles, pleasure and love, with a life-force that shines like the sun.
