Emergency Helpline Coordinator

Help make sure every injured animal gets the help it needs.

Every day, Animal Aid Unlimited receives 100–150 calls from people across Udaipur reporting injured, sick, abandoned, and vulnerable street animals.

As an Emergency Helpline Coordinator, you’ll be at the center of one of India’s busiest animal rescue operations. You’ll help coordinate rescues, guide members of the community who are trying to help an animal, work closely with our rescue teams throughout the day, and ensure every animal receives the care it needs as quickly as possible.

This is much more than answering phone calls. It’s becoming an essential part of the team that helps thousands of animals every year.

At the heart of our rescue operation

Animal Aid's Emergency Helpline operates every day from 7:00 am until midnight, coordinating one of India's busiest rescue services.

Working alongside our experienced Rescue Coordination team, you'll help assess emergencies, gather accurate information, and coordinate with our rescue teams throughout the day. Our rescue ambulances respond across Udaipur, while our Street Treatment team provides medical care to animals that can be treated without coming to the hospital.

Many people are also able to safely bring injured animals directly to Animal Aid. You'll guide them over the phone, explaining how to transport an injured animal safely, what they can do while traveling, and what to expect when they arrive.

Every rescue begins with good communication, careful coordination, and a team working together.

Guide the community to help animals

One of the most rewarding parts of this role is helping people who want to make a difference for animals.

Every day you'll speak with people who have found an injured dog, rescued an abandoned puppy, or are worried about a sick cow or donkey. You'll guide them through the next steps, answer their questions, and help them understand the best way to get that animal the care it needs.

You'll also help educate the community about Animal Aid's work, showing people that they can play an important role in protecting the street animals around them.

Be one of the public faces of Animal Aid

For many visitors, you'll be the first person they meet at Animal Aid.

You'll welcome guests to our rescue center, give tours of our hospital and sanctuary, introduce people to Animal Aid's mission, and share the stories behind our work. You'll also update rescuers on the animals they have helped, arrange visits when appropriate, and help build lasting relationships with the community that supports our mission.

Every interaction is an opportunity to inspire more people to care for animals.

Keep our rescue operation running smoothly

Behind every successful rescue is careful organization.

As an Emergency Helpline Coordinator, you'll maintain accurate records of every rescue, admission, treatment request, and follow-up. You'll work closely with our rescue teams, Animal Welfare Officers, veterinarians, and other departments to ensure information flows smoothly between teams and that every animal receives the treatment, care, and follow-up it needs.

Attention to detail is just as important as compassion, because accurate information helps us save lives.

Learn skills that will stay with you for life

Working on Animal Aid's Emergency Helpline offers a unique opportunity to understand how a large-scale rescue organization operates.

You'll develop skills in rescue coordination, emergency communication, problem-solving, public speaking, visitor engagement, teamwork, organization, and animal welfare. You'll also gain first-hand experience of how rescues are coordinated, animals are admitted, treated, rehabilitated, and eventually returned to happy, healthy lives.

Whether you build your future at Animal Aid or elsewhere in animal welfare, the knowledge and experience you gain here will stay with you throughout your career.
