Unlimited Unleashed is Animal Aid’s campaign to build a purpose-built rescue centre, hospital and sanctuary for street animals in Udaipur, India.

It will be our first permanent home in our 25-year history.

Bringing together emergency rescue, medical treatment, recovery, sanctuary, education and training in one integrated, world-class campus, our new home is designed to improve outcomes for animals while helping transform how street animals are treated in India.

After 25 years of rescuing and treating injured, sick, and vulnerable animals, Animal Aid has outgrown its current home.

Our existing shelter operates on rented land with limited shelter and was never designed to support the scale of rescue work we do today. What began as a small rescue effort has grown into an organization of 150 staff members that rescues more than 15,000 animals every year.

To continue meeting the growing need for animal rescue and treatment, we need a purpose-built sanctuary that allows us to work more efficiently and care for more animals.

We’ve found lots of creative ways to overcome the challenges of our current home but it was never designed for the scale of our operations today.

Our current center limits:

• The number of animals we can safely house and treat
• The space available for animals recovering from surgery, illness, and trauma
• Opportunities for enrichment and rehabilitation during recovery
• The number of staff we can effectively support
• The efficiency of our rescue and treatment operations
• Our ability to host educational programs and community events

While some of these limitations may seem small, their impact adds up every day. Building a new facility gives us the opportunity to design every aspect of the sanctuary around animal welfare, operational efficiency and future growth.

The design for Unlimited Unleashed includes a fully integrated rescue and care campus with:

• Modern veterinary hospital with surgery and diagnostic facilities for dogs, cats, birds and large animals including cows, donkeys, horses, goats and sheep
• Dedicated recovery and intensive care units
• Climate-controlled spaces for different animal needs
• Long-term sanctuary spaces designed for comfort, recovery and quality of life for dogs, cats, birds, and large animals
• On-site ambulance access and operational infrastructure
• Storage, pharmacy and logistics systems for smoother care delivery
• Education and training spaces for visitors, students and staff development
• Purpose-designed environments for rehabilitation and enrichment

We’ve developed the master plan with specialist designers and project teams to make sure the facility supports both current needs and our long-term growth.

Everything we’ve planned for Unlimited Unleashed is designed around one simple goal: giving every animal we rescue the very best chance to heal and thrive.

It means we’ll be able to treat more animals at the same time and carry out more advanced surgeries. Dedicated isolation wards will help stop contagious diseases from spreading, keeping vulnerable animals safer.

It also means happier lives while animals recover. Our water buffalo will have more pools and mud wallows to enjoy, dogs will have larger areas for physiotherapy and exercise with their wheelchairs, and every animal will have more space to rest in a calm, peaceful environment.

We’ll have more sanctuary space for animals who can never return to life on the streets and larger off-leash areas and walking trails where long-term residents can explore, play and simply enjoy being animals again.

In short, Unlimited Unleashed means better treatment, better recovery and a better quality of life for every animal who comes through our gates.

100% yes! The current Animal Aid will stay open and operational until we are ready to move to our new home. Making sure we continue to be there for animals in Udaipur who need our help is always be our first priority.

We have already bought the 31-acre site. Building works are expected to cost approximately $10 million USD (approximately ₹94.5 crore).

As we prepare to break ground in October 2026, our first fundraising milestone is to raise $1 million USD. This early support will help launch the building phase of the project and allow us to move forward with confidence as construction begins.

Yes. We wouldn’t be able to continue our  existing rescue, treatment and sanctuary work without your ongoing donations.

We’re working hard to start construction in October 2026, which will mark the start of the build phase for the new campus.

The new Animal Aid is then set to open by the beginning of 2029.
