The beauty beneath her mange and starvation was visible in her eyes.

Those eyes express the deepest feelings.

But at first, seeing her tottering along the road, skeleton-thin, a terrible wound on her hip, her face encrusted with mange, we weren’t sure she’d make it. She was shy, frightened and possibly even a little delirious from hunger. How beautiful it felt to give Mavis the emergency help she needed. We treated her wound and her mange and watched her put on weight slowly as her healing days of rest and safety passed.

Our trauma treatment center is full, and dogs as vulnerable as Mavis need extra time to fully re-grow their fur and recover their stamina. They need space and freedom to be outside smelling the flowers and resting in the shade.

Our new hospital (unleashed link here) will give them so much more than what we currently can provide.

We will break ground on the new hospital in October. But to bring our new hospital into being, we need your help right now.
