A sharp-eyed construction worker spotted something in the drain next to the work site.

But it wasn’t a something, it was a Someone. A teenage puppy! But was he dead? The worker took a closer look and noticed faint signs of life. He immediately called Animal Aid to the rescue. Our rescuer Govind gently carried the unconscious puppy to our ambulance and whisked him to our hospital.

Bharat thoroughly checked him, and found that he had a fractured leg, and most likely a head injury had caused his collapse. He remained unconscious for several hours, but the hydration drip we installed revitalized him. Too shy and bewildered to eat on his own, Hector’s first feeding had to be done with a syringe.

But soon, Hector stood and ate with gusto. He would require several weeks of bed rest because of his fractured leg, but he healed beautifully. Hector remained shy, but watch til the end, to see his beautiful little smile emerge.
